  PRAYER

God, Creator of heaven and earth, we thank you for the priceless gifts you have given us: our bodies, our talents, our hopes. Even what we offer to you now came first from your generous hands! We think of the foods will soon eat, and we are filled with excitement and joy, knowing that they all came from this earth which you have given to us for a home.

Great News: Fourth grade students can make the honor roll with a grade point average of 3.0-3.49 “B” Honors and 3.50-4.0 “A” Honors.

A or B honors for the second quarter.

A Honor:  I hope your name will be here!

Matt G. and Emma J.

B Honors: I hope you see your name here!

Ydaliz H.

CONGRATULATIONS

Keep up the good work

Supply List for 2011-2012

The topics to be covered in Religion and Social Studies will be described in the fall.

Thank you for you for visiting the sight

Religion: In Unit 3 we will learn that Jesus Christ sent the Holy Spirit to be our helper and guide. We will read about the sacraments of initiation and how the commandments can help us decide whether our word or actions show love for God and others.
Chapter 9- The Holy Spirit guides, forgives, and renews the life of the Trinity in us. Through the Spirit, we persevere on our journey.
Chapter 10 – In Confirmation the Holy Spirit strengthens us to become more like Jesus Christ.
Chapters 11-The fourth through sixth commandments call us to respect life. Jesus calls us to love our neighbor as well.
Chapter 12 – Constant prayer helps us be in union with God. It helps us understand and accept God’s great wisdom.

Social Studies

Unit 3- The Northeast includes the New England and Middle Atlantic states, the region has many cities as well as mountains and rolling farmland. The Iroquois lived in villages in the region before European settlers arrived. The region’s people gained independence through participation in the American Revolution and developed manufacturing and transportation during the Industrial Revolution.
Chapter 5- Environment of the Northeast- The Northeast is the United States’ smallest region, but its landforms and features are the most recognized across the United States.
Chapter 6-History and Economy of the Northeast- The Northeast region was once the home to many Native Americans. After European immigrants arrived, colonies formed and industry expanded. The Northeast is still changing today.
