Social Studies
We will be talking about rules at
home and rules at school.
We will be learning about
America's symbols.
One of the coolest things...
There is a simple test called Draw a Scientist.
At the workshops I have attended the teachers
stated that the children drew a man with crazy hair.
The first graders at St. Pascal
drew themselves (0f Course!!).
This past year we recycled 3,395
plastic bottles and 634 cans.
We can make a difference.
The second graders will help us
recycle even more this year!!!!
We have an economic system in the classroom.
The children earn money by being in charge of the day. They have to hire
their people to help hand out papers at the end of the day.
About once a
month they can use their money to buy items in the classroom store.
Physical Education
We have gym on Tuesday and Thursday.
We are starting an new health program.
Response to Intervention
This year I am also using a reading strategy called response to intervention
which will help the children that are struggling with reading sight words
and comprehension.
